Got flipped off and brake checked on the freeway because I passed a slow car in the right that wouldn’t move over until I went to pass. I had been indicating for 10 seconds or longer. Then I did some good.
Wired up my ignition hot circuits that weren’t working before, then I replaced my clogged front diff breather that was forcing knuckle grease into my differential, turning it into a lovely gray soup. The front was easy peasy, the rear was a PITA since I have to fish 1/4 fuel line though the chassis. Good news is that door seals aside, the airbox (and well, and the distributor) is now the only real concern for water crossings and I figure that level is somewhere around 3 feet...so thats nice.
then I discovered that the guy who did my top end rebuild last year stripped the drain plug in the oil pan and just did a quickie fix so my drain bolt is like...inch pound tight. did I mention Im headed off to be in the complete wilderness for 3 days soon? cool.
Then I became a SWR master. I installed a CB (i know, i know) and hooked up the tuning meter to get my standing wave ratio down. Good is considered no higher than 1.8 peak and 1.5 at the good spots (it goes up and down with the channels) mine is 1.10-1.05 across the whole band. that’s really good, 1 means a near perfect antenna. I know its only worth an extra half mile to a mile, but that could be the important mile.
Hastily eating dinner and taking a breather before I go through my 14 page checklist for packing my shit.
pack up as much as I can tonight, hit up the dealer in the AM, then off to Moab.
Hammerhead out.

It’s a LandCruiser. They can basically run without oil, coolant, gas, or a battery. Nice work.
